License Renewal:
  • CLINICAL LABORATORY PERSONNEL: California requires 24 contact hours for each 2 year licensing cycle for Laboratory personnel, including cytotechnologists, medical laboratory technicians, scientists, and directors.

  • PHLEBOTOMISTS: California requires 6 contact hours for each 2 year licensing cycle for Limited Phlebotomy Technicians (LPT) and Certified Phlebotomy Technicians (CPT I and CPT II ).

You can find the course number on your certificate of completion. It's the number listed under the P.A.C.E. #. The number will always begin with 511 and have three groups of numbers associated with it. See example on certificate below.

Yes, our courses are accepted by Florida for initial licensure, license renewal, and license upgrades.

CE Broker

Our CE Broker number is 20-2256.

As part of our service to Florida licensed techs, Continuing Education Unlimited automatically reports to CE Broker, however, we MUST have an accurate license number on file prior to course completion. The time frame for reporting is as follows:

  • Online Quiz Completions: Quizzes completed online are immediately send to CE Broker electronically. Although most course completions are visible immediately in your CE Broker account, it may take up to 24 hours.
  • Homestudy Quiz Completions: Quizzes completed on answer sheets via homestudy will be entered into our system after we receive the answer sheets and they're graded (please take the mailing, faxing, and processing time into consideration). As stated above, most course completions are visible immediately after we report them to your CE Broker account, however, it may take up to 24 hours in some cases after we send the results.

The Florida Department of Health uses CE Broker to help track laboratory CEUs and facilitate electronic audits for all Florida licensees.

Yes, our courses are accepted by Louisiana for license renewal.

  • All of our courses are approved by ASCLS P.A.C.E.® and have a unique ASCLS P.A.C.E.® number beginning with 511, which is printed on your certificate of completion.
  • Louisiana requires 12 contact hours every 12 months.

Yes, our courses are accepted by Nevada for license renewal.

  • All of our courses are approved by ASCLS P.A.C.E.® and have a unique ASCLS P.A.C.E.® number beginning with 511, which is printed on your certificate of completion.
  • LABORATORY PERSONNEL RENEWAL: Each director, general supervisor, technologist, technician, pathologist's assistant and point-of-care test analyst licensed or certified pursuant to chapter NAC 652.455 must complete 20 contact hours (2 units) within their 2 year license cycle.
  • LABORATORY ASSISTANT RENEWAL: Each laboratory assistant or blood-gas assistant pursuant to chapter NAC 652.455 , shall complete 10 contact hours (1 unit) within their 2 year license cycle.

Yes, our courses are accepted by the State of New York for Laboratory Director provided Continuing Education.

  • All of our courses are approved by ASCLS P.A.C.E.® and have a unique ASCLS P.A.C.E.® number beginning with 511, which is printed on your certificate of completion.
  • Quick Overview: You need to complete a minimum of 12 hours every 12 months (Cytologists - see below). Continuing education must be provided by your Laboratory Director. See bullet points below for additional details.

    • In the State of New York, continuing education is not mandated by the NYSED.gov Office of Professions (with the exception of Cytotechnologists) to maintain your state license, but rather through Laboratory Directors. Directors are required to provide a minimum of 12 hours every 12 months to their staff to meet the needs of their continuing education. * See the Standard directly below.
    • Human Resources Sustaining Standard of Practice 10 (HR S10) requires that the laboratory director shall provide continuing education to laboratory technical staff commensurate with the scope of their duties and such training and continuing education shall be documented. A minimum of twelve hours of continuing education must be performed by laboratory technical staff on an annual basis and staff participation must be documented.

  • Cytotechnologists must follow the continuing education requirements of 10 NYCRR subdivision 58-1.12(c). The rule reads: Regularly scheduled education programs, averaging two hours per month, must be provided to the cytotechnologists and records thereof maintained.

Yes, our courses are accepted by Tennessee for both license renewal and supervisor upgrade.

  • All of our courses are approved by ASCLS P.A.C.E.® and have a unique ASCLS P.A.C.E.® number beginning with 511, which is printed on your certificate of completion.
  • RENEWAL: Tennessee requires Medical Laboratory Professionals to complete 24 contact hours of Board approved Continuing Education (CE) requirements during the 2 year calendar cycle. *License cycles start on Jan 1 of either even or odd numbered years.

  • SUPERVISOR UPGRADE: Documentation of 60 total clock hours of continuing education, which includes 45 clock hours of management and 15 clock hours of technical courses. Of the 45 hours of management, at least 8 clock hours of management courses must be in a classroom or workshop setting, however, 37 hours of management can be completed by other means, including online or homestudy.
